I am writing to support Scott Hazelton for Westford Selectman.  Scott shares my passion for history, particularly the local history of Westford.  My family has a long tradition with the town, and I want to preserve its character, including its stone walls, historic structures and open spaces that were once farmland or woodlots.  Scott values Westford’s heritage and will protect these for future generations.

I have spent over 60 years with the Boy Scouts and still serve as an assistant scoutmaster with Troop 95.  Scott has had two sons with the troop and served as an adult leader for both of them.  He has actively assisted with getting our scouts involved in the community, particularly in projects supporting our senior citizens in the Westford Housing Authority.  He’s not just a merit badge counselor for Citizenship in the Community, he lives it.

I am also a veteran and appreciate his interest and respect for our service and his concern for us.  He has pushed for Veterans Housing in Westford, and we will see that vision become a reality this spring. Even better, it will happen by renovating an existing structure for a higher purpose.
