Fitchburg State University Bomb Threat a Hoax

A school building was evacuated Monday morning; police swept the area and found nothing.

Update, Monday 12:30 p.m.

A bomb threat at Fitchburg State University Monday morning was a hoax.

School officials said police searched the campus and found nothing.

The threat was reported at about 11:20 a.m. The school’s McKay complex was evacuated.

About an hour later, students were allowed back in the building and campus operations returned to normal, police said.
