Suspect Tried to Run Over Westford Cop in Wild Chase: Police
A Lowell man was charged in attempted murder following a chase through Westford and Littleton Monday morning.

A Lowell man was charged with attempted murder Monday morning after police said he tried to run over an officer during a wild chase.
Isiah Lyons, 20, of Lowell, was arrested after crashing on Carlisle Road. He was charged with attempted murder.
Police said he was driving a stolen car.

The pursuit started shortly after 9 a.m., when police said an officer attempted to pull Lyons over. He instead sped up and headed for Littleton, breaking off onto Route 495 north, police said. The officer lost the vehicle at that point.
Less than a minute later, another officer saw Lyons pull off Route 495 back into Westford, police said. Lyons got stuck in traffic, at which point the officer got out of his vehicle and ordered Lyons out of the car, police said. Lyons tried to run over the officer, police said, then proceeded to crash on Carlisle Road.

Lyons was transported to Lowell General Hospital with minor injuries.
He was charged with:
- Attempted murder
- Receiving a stolen car
- Receiving stolen property
- Driving to endanger
- Driving without a license
Police were at the hospital guarding Lyons pending an arraignment.
