Bulls, Heat, Wizards and Gold Rush Win by a Basket

Junior Boys Results

Bulls 27; Blue Thunder 24: The day at Abbot started with a close game between 2 evenly matched teams. For the Bulls, several players contributed offensively including Kevin Zhu(6 points); Matt Cappucci(9 points); Luke Stocker(8 points); and Lance Gopen(4 points). Garret Ackerman, Ryan McElhiney and Jacob Stanglewicz played very well defensively. For Blue Thunder, they also had balanced scoring. Arjun Shah(5 points); Tyler Bella(6 points); Alexander Quattrocchi(8 points); Abhi Bhargava(2 points) and Nicholas Quattrocchi(2 points) all scored. Gavin Spadano, Vivek Bhagat, Noam Burstein and Justin Ly-Em helped defensively.
Green Monsters 26; Generals 20: In another good game, the Green Monsters came out on top by 6 points.  Players for both teams had baskets. For the Green Monsters: Jakob Simas(6 points); Josh Rosenstein(8 points); Brendan Berg(4 points); Blayde Tremblay(4 points); David Towers(2 points) and Trevor Furness(4 points) all scored. Emile Kinnane and Kush Vekeria worked hard out there on both sides of the court.  Kartik Prakash(4 points); Dan Wilson(2 points); Jason Fitzgerald(6 points); Sean Grimes(2 points); Alok Sanghavi(4 points) and Christopher Blaszak(2 points) contributed offensively for the Generals. Ishan Gupta, Chris Amato and Robert Prestidge played well defensively.
Tigers 24; Thunderbolts 20: Justin Dulczewski led all scorers with 15 points for the Tigers. John Alfano and Jack Quaranto also scored. Colin Loesch and Jake Zegowitz put in a great effort defensively. For the Thunderbolts, Simon Wang had 12 points and Jay Wallace(4); Ryan Domit(2) and Matt Accabo(2) also scored.
Blue Celtics 35; Pythons 17: The Blue Celtics were paced by Tim Loosigian who scored a season high 19 points. Mike Sennot also had a big game with 12 points.  In a losing effort, Braeden Ledder(6 points); Jason Ward( 6 points),  Joseph Shen(4points) and Patrick Ward(3 points) all played well.
Spartans 18; Blue Tornadoes 7: In a defensive game as evidenced by the low score, the Spartans came out victorious. Ben Lawrence(6), Zach Lawrence(4) and Ryan O’Regan(4 points) carried the Spartans. The Blue Tornadoes had 5 points from Michael Zacharchuk and 2 points from Devin Crogan.
Wizards 24; Grey Ghosts 21: The undefeated Wizards continued their winning ways with an exciting win over the Grey Ghosts. Ryan Crann put up a 3 pointer for the Ghosts which would have tied up the score at the end and the ball went in and out. John Berrigan led all scorers for the Wizards with 13 points; Joe Baker had a big game with several rebounds and 6 points. Kyle Sawyer scored a 3 pointer to end the 3rd quarter. In a losing effort,  Dom DiGiovine(3), Ryan Crann(4); Colin Carney(4); Nishanth Nivali(6);  and Nolan Hart(2) also scored.
Hawks 22; White Warriors 15: Tommy Olmstead had a big game for the Hawks with 16 points. Ben Nudler(4); Owen McNeil(2); and Jack Lamy played well on the defensive end. For the White Warriors, Brendan Walsh had 10 points,  Justin Carlyle had 4 and Matt Awada scored a foul shot.
Celtics 22; Bears 15: Jack Quinn led the scoring for the Celtics with 12 points. Ernie Barber had 4 points and Cole Mazzaferro also poured in 4 points. For the Bears, Shane Cressman had a big game with 9  points and Dan Marshall had 4 points. Brian Alibrandi played well on defense in a losing effort. 
Heat 32  Blue Hawks 30: Drew Brown and Tommy Welham each scored 7 points to help the Heat slip past the Blue Hawks, 32-30. The Blue Hawks mounted a furious second half comeback, led by Tucker Champeau who scored 16 of his 21 points in the second half.  
Phantoms 41  Blue Man Group 29:  Scott Beattie led all scorers by pouring in 26 points to lead the Phantoms past a hard nosed Blue Man group.  Alec Morgan and Daniel Giannasca each scored multiple baskets for the Phantoms.  Drew Pian paced the Blue Man Group with 15 points while teammate Peter Waldron dropped in 5 field goals for 10 points.
Gold Rush 26  Silver Bullets 24:  In a spirited contest marked with intense play and good sportsmanship, the Gold Rush edged the Silver Bullets 26-24 in overtime.  With less than one minute remaining, Charles Zhang sank a 3 pointer to pull the Gold Rush even with the Silver Bullets for the first time since the first hoop of the game. Sam Sacknowitz scored the only 2 points of the overtime period to give the Gold Rush their only lead of the game.  Jake Barisano, who also showed a deft passing touch,  led all scorers by netting 14 points for the Silver Bullets.  James Weaver chipped in 6 points for the Silver Bullets.
