Purple Platypus: 26

The Purple Platypus’ withstood a determined Orange Sherbet squad to secure another victory. Nicole Camara led the way offensively with sturdy support from Izzy Feehrer and Sofia Marchetti. Colleen Ellis and Meghan Carney kept the Sherbet off balance with great defensive skills. Lauren Flynn and Sindhu Kosuru ruled the boards against the much taller opponents. Hannah West paced the Orange Sherbet while Julia Gabriel provided strong minutes.
Longhorns: 27
Pink Ladies: 11
The first half was a classic battle, with the Pink Ladies and Longhorns trading very few, tough baskets. The Longhorns started to pull away in the second half behind the speed of Lucy Waszak and Ashish Sodhi. The Pink Ladies had key defense from Morgan Dougherty and tenacious rebounding contributed by Catherine Crimmins. Jordan Bunker and Carolina Colgan chipped in key baskets for the Longhorns in the second half.
Murky Water: 34
Minty Fresh: 22
The Murky Water played a great game against the Minty Fresh, getting everyone to score in the first half and everyone to have a basket during the second half. Lizzie Ellis and Hannah Roder ran the offense with Haley Crogan and Rupali Shenoy dominating the rebounds. MacKensie Woodward and Catherine Ristaino played unstoppable defense and Dani Roder had an overall fantastic game. For the Minty fresh, Jordan Underwood and Makena Waterhouse played amazing.
Blue Ice: 24
Flaming Maroons: 14
Outstanding effort by both teams in a game that showcased zone defense in the second half. The Blue Ice offense dominated the first half behind the high scoring of Leah Donovan. Blue Ice defenders Ankeeta Patil and Caroline Campbell froze the Flying Maroons’ attack. For the Maroon, Emma Orfanos, Juliette Noone, Meghana Yellanki, and Rachel Cline all played extremely tough.
Christmas Trees: 22
Pink Ninjas: 8
The Christmas Trees can add another win to their season, winning 22-8. The game started and ended strong by both teams. Claire McCord led the Christmas Trees with eight points, with assistance from Julia Libby, Kate Coffey, and Megan Bramanti. Both Shannon Forty and Anna Cripanuk had eight points for the Pink Ninjas. The two teams each had a great game.
Blue Lightning: 30
Oranges: 19
Today’s game started out with a four-on-four showing between these two teams. The Lightning took the early lead with help from Ria Shah down low, and Emily Crossley and Hannah Roche on the outside. Once Rachel Morey showed up to make it a five-on-five game, she helped the Oranges to settle in defensively. With help from McKenna Watson, Ally Rohlfs, and Elizabeth Deloia, the Lightning was able to put the offensive pressures on the Oranges. A stupendous job at the foul line helped to keep the Oranges in this one for the first half.
Led by Joyce Downey with six points, a ferocious Blue Lightning offense showed up in the second half to extend the lead. Caroline Bates, Jenessa Healey, Alyssa Cantwell, and the rest of the Oranges did their best to contain the Lightning offense, which played one of their better games this season.
Lightning Bolts: 16
Red Rockets: 10
The Red Rockets and Lightning Bolts played to a tight 16-10 battle. The Bolts scoring was led by Rebecca Arnold with eight points and Emma Paulauskas with four. The Red Rockets scoring leaders were Mara Burke with six points and Megan Lawlor with two. Defense for the Bolts was led by Louisa Arnold and Haylee Walsh. Defense for the Red Rockets was led by Claire Enos and Isabelle Lorette. Great rebounding by both teams included efforts by Molly Armstrong and Annika Cianciolo.
