Wondering how to dispose of unwanted household items and waste? Join the League of Women Voters of Westford on Wednesday, May 20, for an informative and interactive session to learn the best options for waste disposal and recycling right here in Westford. Three members of the Westford Recycling Commission – Kristina Greene, Elizabeth Sawyer, and Nupur Patel – will share practical tips, helpful resources, and easy ways to reduce waste before Pay As You Throw begins on July 1.

The League’s Civic Social is part of an ongoing conversation about ways to help residents think about what they bring into their homes and how to then dispose of what they no longer need or use. Attendees are encouraged to bring a list of items/questions and get answers in real time. Residents will learn how small changes can make a big difference, both for residents’ budgets and for the planet. For more information about the Westford Recycling Commission, check out the group’s website at https://westfordma.gov/408/Westford-Recycling-Commission-WRC.

The Civic Social will be held at WestfordCAT, 487 Groton Road, at 7:30 p.m. No registration necessary. Civic Socials are in-person only and are not recorded.

Civic Socials are the League’s informal monthly get-togethers, open to everyone, where people can learn what’s happening in and around town and about what the League is doing. The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan, issues-oriented organization – open to all – that encourages informed and active participation in government. The League does not support or oppose any candidate or political party.  For more information about the League, go to https://lwv.westford.org/.
