The Chelmsford Community Band will celebrate the beginning of the holiday season by performing a family-friendly holiday concert on Sunday, December 7. The show marks the close of the inaugural year for director Lucinda Ellert and it ushers in the spirit of celebration and joy with diverse performances from a jazz combo, traditional classics and original arrangements, and a solo by a local vocalist.

The concert band program will feature sing-along classics, traditional tunes, and an original arrangement of Rebikov’s “The Christmas Tree” by assistant director Timothy Moore. Soprano soloist Jeanne Masterman from Westford will also be performing with the band. A graduate of University of Massachusetts Lowell’s School of Music, Masterman teaches and performs in greater Chelmsford area, directs the Junior Choir at St. Catherine’s in Westford, and is a co-founder of the Westford Christmas Chorus.

The concert begins at 2pm at the Chelmsford Lodge of Elks on Sunday, December 7. Admission to this concert is free, although donations to support the band will be gratefully accepted. Holiday sweets and a cash bar will be available. Bringing joy to the community through music since 1972, the Chelmsford Community Band is composed of approximately 60 volunteer musicians from Chelmsford, Westford, Littleton, Lowell, and the surrounding area.
