Christmas Eve Services at St. Mark’s Church

Celebrating the Fourth Sunday in Advent and the Nativity

This year Sunday, December 24th marks two important celebrations in the church calendar, so St. Mark’s Episcopal Church will hold a morning service to mark the Fourth Sunday in Advent as well as a festival eucharist in the evening to celebrate Christmas.

The morning Advent IV service begins at 10 a.m.in Williams Hall. This will be a casual “Breakfast Church” where we will eat waffles, tell the story of the Angel Gabriel’s appearance to Mary, talk about how the women in the story of Luke responded to God’s invitation to be part of God’s plan to redeem the world, and then share a simple table Eucharist.

The Christmas Eve service begins at 5 p.m. in the sanctuary. This will be a traditional candlelight worship service featuring the St. Mark’s Choir directed by organist and minister of music Eric Berthiaume. Children of all ages are welcome and will receive a special gift. After worship, Rector Suzanne Wade invites anyone who would like to come to a potluck supper, starting about 6:30 p.m.
