Come Sing with the Westford Chorus

The Westford Chorus, under the direction of Jim Barkovic, will begin rehearsals for its fall season on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 7:15 pm at the Parish Center for the Arts, 10 Lincoln Street in Westford Center. Open rehearsals will continue through September 22. Auditions are not required for the chorus, and opportunities are available for solos and small groups.

The chorus will perform on Saturday, January 30 in Chelmsford and Sunday, January 31 in Groton. The program “Music Across the Centuries: the 40’s” will include a wide range of pieces composed in the 1640’s, 1740’s, 1840’s and 1940’s.

The Westford Chorus is in its 33rd year of providing quality choral music to music lovers in the Greater Lowell area. Members come from area towns including Andover, Ayer, Billerica, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Concord, Dunstable, Groton, Littleton, Lowell, Tyngsboro and Westford. The performance season consists of concerts in January and May, performed in venues in Westford, Chelmsford and Groton. The Westford Chorus also brings music to the elderly in area nursing homes and participates in community singing events.

The chorus is under the direction of Jim Barkovic, who brings thirty years of experience in choral conducting, including current posts as Director of Music at the West Concord Union Church and Holy Family Parish in Concord MA, and Terry Halco, who is a noted accompanist and organist in the Boston area.
