Commuter Rail Hits Tractor Trailer In Littleton
The crash caused significant delays to the Fitchburg Line Monday.

LITTLETON, MA – A collision between a Commuter Rail train and a tractor trailer in Littleton was cleared Monday afternoon, police said. The train crashed into the tractor trailer at the railroad crossing on Foster Street near the Littleton/495 train station around 11 a.m.
There were no injuries in the crash, and the train did not derail, according to police. A portion of Foster Street remained closed Monday evening.
The warning lights at the crossing were damaged, and repairs are expected to be made in the coming days. A "stop and protect" order has been issued until repairs are completed, which means trains will come to a complete stop while a conductor exits the train to stop vehicular traffic.
