Man Struck, Killed By Commuter Rail In Ayer

Police said he was trespassing on the tracks west of the Commuter Rail stop.

AYER, MA – A man died from his injuries after being struck by a Commuter Rail train in Ayer, Transit Police said. The 33-year-old was carrying his bicycle about 400 yards west of the station when he was struck by an inbound train.

He was trespassing on the tracks when he was hit, according to police. Trains in the area were canceled Wednesday afternoon.

The incident is under investigation, but foul play is not suspected.
