What a turnaround game for the Leprechauns! Must have been the luck of the Irish that the Leprechauns were down 9-1 in the first half but cranked up the heat and won in a see-saw thriller 42-39. For the Peppers Kirsten Leary and Caroline Rosinski were standouts with 9 points each. For the Leprechauns Mackenzie Brewer had 13 and Molly Aulson chipped in with 12. The Leprechauns had a tough time overcoming the stifling defense of the Peppers’ Rebecca Shepherd and Liz Dick.

Black Mambas 29
Cool Blue 24
The Black Mambas edged the Cool Blue in a tight 29-24 game. Cool Blue fought the whole way and brought in to 4 points with under a minute to go. Scoring leaders for the Mambas were Ashley Geary with 13 and Caroline Kennedy with 4. Cool Blue scoring was led by Kristina Reny with 13 thrilling points and Breanne Sullivan with 5. Defensive standouts for Cool Blue were Brooke Mains and Jessica Sullivan. Leading the defense for the Mambas was Sam Kelly and Meghan McGrath.
Crocodile Hunters 28
Periwinkle Platypi 17
Nicole Callahan was ruthless scoring 15 of the Crocodile Hunters 28 points. Jess Casey put up a nice three while contributing 7 of the points. The Platypi were led by Catherine Darin who played her best game of the year with 13 points followed by Sarah Zeoli with 4. It was a great night of basketball for all.
Da Bullz 27
Black Mambas 22
It was an intense game between these two great teams. The strong coaching and defense led Da Bullz to victory. Becca Goodman and Rachel Mahan led the offense with a combined 22 points and Molly Curley and Kara Aiken did an amazing job on defense. For the Black Mambas Ashley Geary and Elizabeth Muller led the offense. All in all the two teams played fabulously!
Golden Snitches 45
Ocean Spray 40
The Golden Snitches battled out a victory in a close, high scoring game against Ocean Spray. Danielle Donovan of Ocean Spray led all scorers with 17 points followed by Karina Camargo with 12. Jenna Klinka led the Snitches with 15 points followed by Rebecca Robey and Emily Kingston with 9 each.
Hot Shots 35
Lucky Leprechauns 32
This first playoff game for the Hot Shots was a close one. Sarah Brunelle and Jackie Joncas dominated the offense for the Hot Shots with tremendous passing from Hayley Flaherty-Dawson and Danielle Victory. Sarah Boughan controlled the rebounds with Meghan Carlyle. Kelly Bray, Lauren Marple and Alesia Raczelowski played unstoppable defense. Micki Downey was a second half powerhouse for the Hot Shots (even with having just had her eyes dilated. The leprechauns were led by Molly Aulson, Mackenzie Brewer and Kelly Geraghty on offense and Becky O’Neil and Nicole Pugatch on defense. Great season to the Leprechauns and a sad farewell to their 5 seniors. Good luck to the Hot Shots in the next game.
Yellow Submarines 42
The Golden Snitches 33
The Yellow Submarines advanced to the semi-finals of the playoffs by pulling away from the tenacious Golden Snitches in the final minutes. Key baskets by Leah Bushey and Brianna Mills enabled the Yellow Submarines at the end to seal the win. The first half of the game was a back and forth affair as the combo of Jenna Klinka and Emily Kingston of the Golden Snitches traded baskets with Taryn Chrysikos and Jillian Chrysikos. Tia Habosian also had a hot hand early on for the Golden Snitches as she sank a couple of nice long range jumpers. The Yellow Submarines were able to break through the full court press of Snitches at the end of the first half to take the lead. The Golden Snitches came charging back at the beginning of the second half behind a couple of terrific steals and fast break baskets from Rebecca Robey but were never able to regain the lead. Lauren Bushey, Katie Perrone and Rachel Templeton took turns keeping the pressure on the ball by picking at half court while Amy Cornelius and Rike Pemp controlled the boards. Demi Zhang and Amy Paulaskas had strong games defensively for the Golden Snitches while Kathryn Olivier shared point guard duties and handed out several assists. Players and coaches from both teams wish for a speedy recovery to Kyra Kruger and best of luck to Carol Neuhardt and Maimuna Ahmad in the upcoming WA Theater Arts production for the METG Semi Finals.
Butter 31
Crocodile Hunters 23
The Butter managed to slip by a hungry Crocodile Hunter team. After a cold start the Butter began to heat up led by Stacy Shackleton who scored 9 of her 14 points in the second half. Nicole Souza added to the Butter first half scoring. Jen Rigby, known for her ‘high sky’ rebounding, played a great game for the Crocs followed by the strong front court duo of Nicole Callahan AND Katie Campbell. Abby Hyslip's strong second half along with help on defense by Tas Bhindarwala and Alexis Jacobson.
