Dog Stuck in Snow-Covered Wall Rescued

A Westford veterinarian sedated the dog so rescuers could free him.

A Westford veterinarian helped rescue a dog trapped in a snow-covered wall last week.

The golden retriever, named Angus, got stuck in a stone wall on Davidson Road in Boxborough on Wednesday night, police said.

Dr. Christian D’Orazio, a veterinarian from Westford Veterinary Emergency and Referral Center, responded to the scene and sedated the dog so police and firefighters could carefully take down part of the wall and remove him safely. The dog was stuck for about two hours before he was freed.

Angus was evaluated and then released back to his family.

“It was our pleasure to help rescue Angus from his scary predicament,” said Boxborough Police Sgt. Warren O’Brien in a statement. “We are very pleased that he is doing well. It was part of our commitment to help not only our human customers, but our animals as well.”
