Eagle Scout Builds Bridge Near Boutwell Brook

State Representative James Arciero recently attended the Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Eugene Bernstein of Westford Boy Scout Troop 437.
Eugene's was recently awarded the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest award in scouting, on March 25th at the American Legion Post 437 in Westford. In order to receive this prestigious designation, a scout must secure 21 merit badges in a number of different areas ranging from government to camping. The final step is the completion of an Eagle Scout project.
Eugene's project was the construction and installation of a 4'x 96' long footbridge over the Tom Paul Trail near Boutwell Brook in Westford in conjunction with the Westford Conservation Commission.
As part of the ceremony, Representative Arciero presented a Massachusetts House of Representatives Citation to the recipient to mark the occasion. Representative Arciero is also an Eagle Scout.
