Westford Academy's Matt Ellis scored the 1,000th point of his high school career in a loss to St. John's on Sunday.

Grey Ghost senior Matt Ellis scored the 1000th point of his four-year career in the team's post-season warmup tournament 69-67 loss to St. John's, becoming only fifth Westford Academy player to reach that mark since 1986.
Ellis, who is already the school's all time leader in 3-pointers according to the Grey Ghosts boys' basketball website, joins former teammates T.J Jann and Peter Lynch as well as Marc Tocci and his brother Zach in the prestigious Grey Ghost 1,000 point club.

"I am very proud of what Matt has accomplished, not only in scoring his 1,000 point last night, but in everything over his four years at Westford Academy," said Westford Academy head coach Ed Scollan in a press release after the game. "He is terrific Captain, a great teammate, and a role model for everyone in our program."
