An Evening with Lyle Cogen : Upstanders, Bystanders and Bullies

Join us for an anti-bullying community presentation for area families with children in elementary school.  This family-friendly performance of Lyle Cogen's 'Sticks & Stones' Show, is free and open to parents as well as their dependent children in grades 1-5, which takes place on Thurs, October 20, 2011 from 6:30 - 8 pm at the Stony Brook Middle School Auditorium (off Rte 40) in Westford.   The performance will include a one-hour show followed by a 30 minute Q&A session.  This event is generously sponsored by Lowell General Hospital and the Westford Parent Connection.

An Evening with Lyle Cogen : ‘Upstanders, Bystanders, and Bullies’

What does a bully look like anyway?  Do you project that image?  How could someone who sees someone else getting bullied stand by and just do nothing?  'Sticks & Stones'  is a constant back and forth dialogue between performer and audience. This drama-based performance is fueled by the energy in the audience and is often spontaneous.  Parents and children will examine the trio in bullying : the target, the bystander and the bully; and then figure out how they may have fit into those three roles.  Lyle challenges the families to be change makers and proves to them that change can happen in many ways, little by little, person by person, but it is fastest when we join together as one.
