Author Matthew Pearl at the Gleason

On Thursday, March 22, at 7pm, The Gleason Public Library will host Matthew Pearl as he talks about his newest literary historical thriller, The Technologists. Released in late February, the Technologists depicts a team of ingenious scholars in the early years of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with its mission to harness science for the benefit of all and to open the doors of opportunity to everyone of merit, after a mysterious catastrophe strains the always precarious relationship between tradition and technology. Cambridge-based author, Pearl uses local history to tell a thrilling tale of nineteenth-century Boston. Pearl’s first three novels—The Dante Club, The Poe Shadow, and The Last Dickens—were all New York Times bestsellers. This program is brought to Carlisle as part of the STEM+Music at the Gleason Public Library, a Library Services and Technology Act federal grant. Space is limited and registration is required for this program. Please call 978-369-4898.
