Blanchard-Stony Brook Productions and Stony Brook Theater Arts Club presents G2K Getting to Know...Rodgers & Hammerstein's State Fair

Set against a colorful backdrop of an American heartland tradition, the Frake family of Iowa makes plans to leave behind the routine of their farm life to attend the Iowa State Fair in late summer 1946.  Father Abel Frake hopes that his boar will win a prize; his wife, Melissa, is entering her mincemeat among stiff competition; daugher Margy is upset with her beau, Harry, whose plans for their life together may not be what Margy is looking for; son Wayne meets Emily Arden, a singer, and falls instantly in love.

Show dates are Friday, December 9 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, December 10 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.  The play will take place at Stony Brook School Auditorium, 9 Farmer Way in Westford.

Tickets can be purchased online from November 22 through December 7 at www.bsbproductions.org or in person at Stony Brook School outside the cafeteria during lunch (10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) on Tuesday, 11/22, Tuesday, 11/29, Wednesday, 11/30, Thursday, 12/1, Tuesday, 12/6, Wednesday, 12/7 and Thursday, 12/8.  In addition, tickets will be available for sale outside the Stony Brook Auditorium on Saturday, 12/3 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
