Eating Disorders & Body Image

Could Your Child Have An Eating Disorder?

Are you concerned about your child and his or her eating habits? Does your child have body image issues? The Westford Parent Connection is hosting a panel discussion – Eating Disorders & Body Image – on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at the Blanchard Middle School, 14 West Street, Westford, at 7:00 p.m. Presenters include Laura Goodman, LMHC, Dr. Rhys Wyman, and Dr. Nancy Hurley. The event’s panel will teach parents and other caregivers the signs of anorexia and bulimia, and give them the tools they need to help their children grow up with healthy eating and exercise habits. They will also discuss the negative impact the media can have on both genders in terms of what’s considered the ideal body type. In addition to these medical professionals, a student recovering from an eating disorder will be on hand to answer questions.
