The Friends of the J. V. Fletcher Library Inc. will be holding its annual meeting in the ground floor meeting room of the J. V. Fletcher Library. Featured speaker, Charles Pierce, author of Idiot America, Sports Guy and Moving the Chains and columnist for The Boston Globe Magazine, will talk about “How I Wasted Two Years of My Life Writing a Book Called Idiot America and Everything Got Worse.” Mr. Pierce, a regular panelist on National Public Radio’s game show “Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me,” also appears weekly on NPR’s sports program “Only a Game.”
Mr. Pierce’s talk begins at 7:30 p.m. At 7 p.m., Friends members will enjoy refreshments and have the opportunity to vote on next year’s officers and directors. Up for election are John Newman, President; Maureen Robinson, Vice President; Sally Harris, Treasurer; Heather FitzPatrick, Assistant Treasurer and Kerstin Porter, Secretary.
