Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Yeoman of the Guard"

See an innocent hero with his head on the chopping block! The Yeomen of the Guard brings the Tower of London to Carlisle. The worthiest warrior of all is about to be wrongly beheaded. See jesters and jailers, love triangles, mistaken identities, young lovers running to each other and older lovers running away. Rich costumes and the massive Tower of London provide a backdrop for Gilbert and Sullivan’s most operatic, and for many, most moving work. Come hear glorious music and witty comedy that depict the struggles between honor and duty, between love and responsibility and between justice and the law.

As always, this Savoyard Light Opera Company production will feature a full orchestra, original scenery, lush costumes and professional lighting. The talented near-professional cast hails from numerous towns and cities throughout the Greater Boston area. Friday and Saturday performances at 7:30pm, Sunday matinees at 2:00pm.
