Theatre with a Twist Inc. in collaboration with the Acton Historical Society is proud to present their upcoming production of “The Redcoats are Coming”, an original play written by Jane Ross (a descendant of Abner Hosmer of Acton). This story outlines a day in the life of Abner Hosmer and Luther Blanchard on April 19, 1775 as they march off to defend themselves and their land. It is the
Battle of Lexington, fought in Concord by the Acton Minutemen! Lead by Captain Isaac Davis, Hosmer and Blanchard help to lead the way to independence. This
story throws descendants of the Hosmer family back in time to relive the events that lead up to the American Revolution as a means to educate generations to
come. This lovely story also allows us to see the importance of passing on stories and history from generation to generation and to keep our heritage
alive. Jane Ross has created this piece of literature to teach others about the American Revolution and to show the importance of the Town of Acton in the workings of the beginning of Independence. The show will be performed on Fri April 20th at 7pm and Sat April 21st at 2pm at St. Matthew’s Church, 435 Central St. Acton, MA. Tickets are $10 students/seniors, $12 adults and are available at the door or at the Hosmer House on Monday April 16th 1-4pm during the Patriot’s Day festivities. . This program is in part
