The Story of a Mountaineer

Mount Everest: the highest peak in the world.  Have you ever wondered what it must be like to scale it and stand at the top looking down?  On July 28th at 7:00 PM the Friends of the Gleason Public Library present Everest summiteer and professional mountain guide Craig John at the First Religious Society, Carlisle, as he delivers a multi-media presentation on his climb of the North Ridge of Everest and other mountains around the world.  He combines personal experience with background on the region he was in and breathtaking images from the climbs.  Whether you are interested in learning more about mountain climbing or just looking for a good story, this fascinating and inspiring speaker has something for you.  This program is recommended for grades 4 through adult. This program is part of the 2011 Summer Reading Program “One World, Many Stories”. For more information about Gleason Public Library, Carlisle programs visit www.gleasonlibrary.org.
