I find inspiration for new polishes everywhere - in books, during walks with my dog, the change in seasons, holidays... just about anything can spark a polish idea. Jumping into the indie polish business, I knew I had to stick with ideas and creations that I would care about for months (and hopefully, years!) to come. What better way than to think about those fictional characters I'd want to invite over for a drink as a starting point for a brand I am calling MicroBrews?
My first polish collection was released on February 28th and includes four distinct jelly-based glitter polishes. Each polish is inspired by one of my favorite TV or book series, specifically an iconic drink that features into the story and plot lines. See if you can guess which series ties to each polish - and what they're drinking!
"To Edith": A toast to my favorite British "soap opera" character! With a subtle pink-grey base and loads of light pink hex glitter, this polish has an understated depth. A champagne toast is the best way to recognize this wallflower's contributions to a family that is steeped in drama.
"Best Turkey Dinner": Inspired by a drink featured in a one season sci-fi TV favorite that is said to have all the nutritional value of Grandma's Best Turkey Dinner... with a little extra kick. This stellar muddy spring green brew has black holo and silver micro glitters in a semi-sheer base.
"On Deck": If butterbeer were real a real drink, spilling it would be a crime, no? Inspired by a favorite quote from a magical series, this butterscotch colored gold gold shimmer jelly base has darker brown sparkles – you know, a little bit of added magic!
"Free Radicals & Tannin": A tribute to my favorite of all sci-fi shows - where the tea is strong and important boxes and books are blue. This strong infusion is a blue jelly base with white dots, white hex glitter and both black and white iridescent sparkles.
None of these polishes can be found at a local drug or beauty supply store. These polishes are only available at my online store in both full and mini-sizes. I'm passionate about bringing a unique twist on polish, incorporating not-so-mainstream combinations to provide one-of-a-kind manicures. I'd love to hear what polish ideas you might have - who knows, you could have your own signature 'Brew!
