A Fresh Change For The MA State Comnittee

One of the critical roles of a State Committee is to recruit candidates capable of winning their election while promoting the party's objectives. During the election cycles of 2022 and 2020, the State Committee and its local town committees failed in their mission in epic fashion. In every statewide race, the Democrats ran unopposed or the Republicans suffered lopsided defeats.

During those cycles, the State Committee actively opposed Republican candidates who did not align with their narrow view of “true conservatism.” Rather than see history repeated itself, I am supporting Beth Lindstrom and Mark Bodanza, who, in my opinion, would be a welcome candidates for the State Committee.

During her career, Beth Lindstrom has held senior-level executive office positions in Government. As the first female executive director of the State Party, she helped the Party rebuild at the time with the election of Weld/Cellucci/Malone and Senate House members. Since then, she has been instrumental in many successful Republican candidacies, including her role as campaign manager of Scott Brown’s upset in the U.S. Senate. Her counterpart running for Statecommitteman is Mark Bodanza. Mark is President of the Leominster City Council and has been a council member for 6 terms. The city of Leominster is run by a conservative mayor and a majority-conservative city council. Leominster has no pension debt and is considered one of the best-run cities in our Commonwealth. He is a candidate worthy of consideration.

The Massachusetts Republican Party is at a crossroads. Only 11% of the State’s electorate is registered Republican. Republican candidates need to be relatable and appealing to the unrolled or conservative Democrat. The Party must either evolve or it will continue its demise to irrelevancy. Non-Republican voters may see that as a good outcome, but a return to the days of one-party governments is not good for anyone.

It’s time for a change and fresh ideas in the Massachusetts Republican Party. It’s time to elect people who view the world through a larger lens and have the experience to re-energize the Party for all Republicans and other voters who care about a healthy two-party political system.

I am supporting Beth Lindstrom and Mark Bodanza, who believe in effective but smaller government with a focus on candidates who can win and who have a broader vision for all Republicans. If you agree, please vote for Beth and Mark for the Massachusetts Republican State Committee on March 5th.
