The following was submitted by the Westford Academy girls' basketball team

Coach's Notes:

We lost on a layup with 2 seconds to go at Wachusett.  Christina Nowak had made a shot with 8 seconds to go to put us up one, but Wachusett beat our defense and got free for a shot at the end.

Catherine Sennott had a great game with 16 points and excellent defense.  Sam Hyslip chipped in with 15 points and Nowak had 9.

Frankly, I thought we played very good defense.  When we were patient, our offense was solid.  Wachusett is a very good team, and we had our chances to beat them at the end.

I think our slow start (3-3) is a result of a tough schedule, and I look forward to two home games this week.  I have seen definite improvement over the start of the season and believe these tough games will make us a better team overall at the end of the season.

Second Game

We beat Boston Latin  60-47. It's a good win, but we still need to improve.  We got a good lead, around 18 points, and relaxed and let Latin back in the game.  We need to learn how to avoid relaxing with a lead.
