Ghosts Nearly Pull Off Baseball Upset in Lowell

One run was all the Red Raiders needed on Sunday afternoon.

 

In what was a drastic departure from earlier this season, put a scare into top seeded Lowell, falling 1-0 on Sunday.

Junior Luke Morse held Lowell scoreless through six, but the Red Raiders got on the board in the seventh off reliever John Troy, as a fielding miscue off deep triple by Roger Roman allowed Joe Parisi to come home.

Westford scattered eight hits off future Virginia Tech prospect Matt Tulley, but the closest the Ghosts would get to a run was when catcher Matt Sullivan was called out at the plate in the sixth.

Lowell will now face Malden Catholic in the MIAA Division 1 North quarterfinals later today.
