Ghosts' Softball Shuts Out Newton South

The softball squad defeated Newton South on Monday, 3-0. 

Sophomore Christie Raymond pitched a two-hitter, striking out six and walking only one in spinning a complete-game shutout. 

The Grey Ghosts scored three runs in the sixth inning to break open a scoreless tie, with key hits from sophomore Emily Chateauneuf, senior Katie Lowe and junior Ali DiFonzo.  

Defensively, the infield of Lowe, junior Sage Riddick, junior Rachel Desrochers and senior captain Allie Brody many several sparkling plays to keep Newton South off the board.  

With the win, Westford Academy raises its record 6-5.
