Ghosts Win Two Individual Titles at DCL Track and Field Championships

The boys and girls' teams finished fourth and sixth respectively overall.

 

Westford Academy had a disappointing overall team performance at the 2013 Dual County League Track and Field Championships last week at Regis College in Weston.

However, the Grey Ghosts were able to bring home some glory thanks to league titled earned by junior Ashley Craig and sophomore Qadir Barnard-Pratt.

Barnard-Pratt finished first in the boys' high jump with a mark of six feet, while Craig finished with a 10 foot, six inch total in the girls' pole vault, a foot more than second place Kyra Visnick of Newton South.

The Grey Ghosts also had five second place finishers.

Overall, the boys finished sixth with 69 points, behind Waltham (77.50), Concord-Carlisle (88), Newton South (101) and Acton-Boxborough (153).

On the girls' side, Westford finished fourth (90), behind Lincoln-Sudbury (103.50), Acton-Boxborough (126), and Newton South (162).
