Girls' Lacrosse Team Qualifies for the MIAA Tournament

The Westford Academy girls' lacrosse team won 20-13 against Chelmsford Monday to secured a spot in the MIAA Division I North Sectional Tournament.

Despite the learning curve associated with their first year on the job, Westford Academy girls' lacrosse coaches Julie Oliver and Kerry Bomil have successfully led their team to the MIAA Division 1 North Sectional tournament berth.

The Grey Ghosts secured their spot yesterday thanks to a 20-13 win against Chelmsford. Although they aren’t sure when exactly they will be playing, players, parents and coaches alike are ecstatic that Westford qualified for the post season.

“We’re psyched,” said Oliver, the head coach of the squad. “The game went great, the girls possessed well. They went to goal when they had to, (and) they settled defensively.”
