Grey Ghost Boys and Girls Lax Start Season With 12-11 Wins
Both genders of Westford Academy lacrosse teams opened the year on Thursday with big victories against difficult opponents.

If the opening day is any indication, the 2012 season looks bright for Grey Ghost lacrosse.
Westford Academy earned a pair of wins, with the girls defeating Groton-Dunstable 12-11 at home and the boys defeating Billerica by the same score on the road.

Jay Drapeau led the way for the Ghosts in the boys' contest with six goals in the first win for Billerica native and Westford Academy head coach Matt Tholander, while Stacy Shackleton took four goals in the win at home against the Crusaders.
Both teams are ranked in the top 25 in the state by national lacrosse website Laxpower.com, with both teams seeing contests next week against comparably ranked teams such as Chelmsford on the girls' side and Acton-Boxborough on the boys' side.
