Grey Ghost Standout Shines At Hockey Night

Grey Ghost defenseman Justin Pawlowski took to the ice last week in Haverhill for the "Hockey Night in Boston Major Showcase" last week.

The town of Westford is a small place, but even under the bright lights of major competition, Westford Academy hockey player Justin Pawlowski stands out.

A 6 foot, 2 inch defenseman for the Grey Ghosts, Pawlowski showed off his skills in front of family, friends, and dozens of scouts at the Hockey Night in Boston Major Showcase at the Haverhill Valley Forum.

Pawlowski, who notched 20 points last season, is the lone Westford representative out of over 400 players in the tournament.

“Yeah it kind of means something,” Pawlowski said of representing the town. “I know a couple of other guys tried out. It’s good to represent my school like this.”

During the tournament, Pawlowski skated with players from five different states and faced off against competitors from all across eastern portions of the U.S and Canada.

“It’s been nice to play with people I’ve never played with before,” Pawlowski said. “It’s been cool meeting new people.”

Pawlowski’s squad finished with a 2-4-1 record during a four day span, and he looks forward to beginning his senior year next month, particularly with the hopes that he can bring the work he’s put in over the summer come December.

“I just want to improve my game,” Pawlowski said. “I want to work on everything and bring it to the next level.”
