Grey Ghosts Girls Basketball Clinic at Westford Academy

Westford Academy Girls Basketball Program runs this week for girls entering Grades 3-9.

The Westford Grey Ghost basketball camp is off and running this week. Older counselors, who are the more experienced players and play in the afternoon session, are lending a hand with the younger players in Grades 3- 5.

"We try to get kids hooked on basketball," said Blanchard Middle School teacher and camp coach Chiara Bubin.

While the basic skills of basketball are on the docket for the girls, camp organizers also are hard at work to instill a sense of camaraderie within the campers.

"We want to develop a sense of continuity and have players know they can always come back," said Russ Coward, Westford Academy girls' varsity basketball coach and co-director of the camp.

Working together as a team, the Westford Academy Girls Basketball Program has been building momentum over the last few years as it has helped older and younger players to work together and develop a sense of belonging and being part of the program.
