Grey Ghosts Will Compete This Sunday on WGBH High School Quiz Show

Do the Grey Ghosts have plenty of grey matter?

We'll see this weekend as students from Westford Academy and 94 other Massachusetts public high schools gather in Brighton for Season Four of WGBH's High School Quiz Show.

Hosted by Billy Costa, the Emmy Award-winning show seeks to bring excitement to the world of learning.

“It was our hope to create a showcase for academic achievement that would eventually take hold in communities across the Commonwealth,” said Executive Producer Hillary Wells. “The real credit, of course, goes to the coaches and to the participating students who continue to impress and amaze us with their enthusiasm, poise under pressure, and depth of knowledge.

Following a 100 question oral exam, the top 16 teams among the nearly 100 schools will return to appear on the single-elimination bracketed academic tournament, with the overall winner facing the winner of New Hampshire Public Television's Granite State Challenge this spring.
