Grey Ghosts Win Boys' and Girls' DCL Championships

Despite the lack of snow, Westford Academy was dominant on Tuesday, a recurring theme all season.

It's official: the Grey Ghosts are kings and queens of the the Dual County League's slopes for the 2011-12 season following their Alpha Division Mass Bay West slalom wins at  on Tuesday.

The crown for the girls came in large part to captain Jessica Bishop, whose time of 24.88 seconds was just enough to squeak ahead of the Bromfield School's Sarah Rowse for first place individually, with the Ghosts' Jessica Webb finishing .01 seconds behind Rowse for third.

Westford had even more success on the boys' side, with James Larsen, Tom Fahey and Thomas Yorke taking three of the top four spots.

Rounding out the pack for the Ghosts was Colin Cressman, who finished in 18th with a time that was three seconds behind Larsen's event winning time, but enough to clinch the team win over Acton-Boxborough by seven points, earning them the league title. 

CORRECTION: Stephen McLeod finished in second for Chelmsford, Tom Fahey finished in third for Westford Academy.
