Health Department Offering Free Parent Program
Health Department Receives Grant to Offer Parent Program

The Westford Health Department will once again be able to offer Guiding Good Choices free to participating parents, thanks to receiving a grant from the Greater Lowell Health Alliance. This 4 day 2 hour/day course gives parents the skills they need to ensure the future well-being of their teen by learning to communicate effectively.
This 4 session course will:
• Provide specific steps to develop strategic conversational guidelines with your teen.
• Assist parents in developing family guidelines and expectations for behavior.
• Teach conflict management and strengthen family bonds.
• Help parents increase teen involvement in the family.
• Facilitate creating a parent support network.
• Provide parents with current 2012 Westford Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) data.
This course will be taught by Ms. Kathy Bowen, Certified Life Empowerment Coach.

Sessions will be Oct 15, 22, 29, and Nov 5th 9:30am to 11:00am at the First Parish Church United.
