The Friends of the J.V. Fletcher Library, Inc. invite you to attend our 2015 Annual Meeting and Enjoy Featured Speaker, Lylah Alphonse, an experienced print and online journalist who currently works as the Managing Editor for News at U.S. News & World Report on Thursday, October 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the J.V. Fletcher Library, 50 Main Street in Westford.
Lylah Alphonse is an experienced print and online journalist who currently works as the Managing Editor for News at U.S. News & World Report. In that role she oversees the newsroom and coordinates coverage of national issues ranging from U.S. politics and policy to higher education and health care. Before joining U.S. News, she was a senior editor and writer at Yahoo.com, where she wrote more than 1,100 articles for the front page and for their lifestyle hub (Y! Shine), covering breaking news, health, parenting trends, politics and pop culture. She curated their “Women in Politics” section, was part of Yahoo! News’ 2012 election-night team, and interviewed First Lady Michelle Obama, presidential adviser Valerie Jarrett and others. Before Yahoo she spent 16 years as an editor and writer at The Boston Globe, including time as the Assistant National and Foreign News Editor. Lylah is a Westford resident and can often be found on the sidelines of a soccer field.
Members of the Friends of the Library are invited to attend and vote at the Friends’ Annual Meeting at 7 p.m.
