I-495 Traffic Stop Yields Cocaine, Loaded Gun: State Police

Two were arrested in an early-morning traffic stop Thursday.

WESTFORD, MA — An early morning traffic stop Thursday ended up with two from New Hampshire in custody after police said they found cocaine and a loaded gun in the car.

State Police said they pulled over a red GMC Envoy around 2 a.m. on I-495 in Westford. The driver, Christal Dietz, 38, from Nelson, N.H., and Mitchell Whipple, 30, from Winchester, N.H., both had cocaine, police said. While police were searching the vehicle they found a loaded .22 caliber revolver from the front passenger side floor.

The pair was arrested brought to the Concord Barracks for booking.

Whipple was charged with possession of a class B substance, possession of a firearm without an FID card, possession of ammunition without an FID card, and carrying a loaded firearm. Bail was set at $540.

Dietz was charged with possession of a class B substance and marked lines violation. Bail was set at $40.
