ICYMI: Westford's Edwards Beach Closed Due to High Bacteria Levels

In case you missed it.

Edwards Beach in Westford was closed Friday due to high bacteria levels.

Officials said the beach will remain closed through at lest Monday so testing can be done.

Please be advised that as a result of laboratory testing results obtained today (7/31/15), the Westford Board of Health (BOH) has closed Edwards Beach on Williams Avenue due to elevated levels of bacteria.The BOH has posted CLOSED signs at the beach and has taken an additional sample to the testing laboratory. The results of the re-sampling are expected back from the laboratory on Monday. The beach must remain closed until at least next Monday, and until subsequent testing shows that levels have returned to acceptable limits.

A re-opening notice will be sent via this notification system and it will also be posted on the BOH web page under Beach Testing. Should you have any questions or concerns, please call the Health Department at 978 692-5509.
