Facing her old high school, Westford coach Julie Olivier saw her team drop a 20-7 decision Thursday.

Julie Olivier's first varsity coaching experience against her former high school may not have gone as planned.

Olivier, a former Lincoln-Sudbury lacrosse player and current Westford Academy coach, saw her Grey Ghost team fall, 20-7 Thursday.

There were some positives to take away, however.

WA senior Rachel Secrist netted five goals and an assist, keeping her team within range in the first half with four goals alone.

“Rachel knows how to get the ball and take it to the net, but she is also a great team player and a leader,” said Olivier.

The visiting Grey Ghosts found themselves down 12-4 at the half. They opened the second half with a pair of goals from senior Molly Klinka and sophomore Bailey Mongillo.

Despite the early scoring, Westford was not able to hold back the Warriors' offense, as L-S scored the next eight goals.

“We played a highly skilled team in L-S and we learned a lot from these players,” said Olivier. “We have a lot of opportunity as far as growth and they have it in them to rise to the occasion for any team they are going to meet.”

Westford returns home to face Algonquin Regional High on Saturday also at 11 a.m.
