After winning a previous meeting in overtime, the Grey Ghosts lost 10-8 to host Lincoln-Sudbury Thursday.
Despite hanging around for most of the game, the Westford boys' lacrosse team dropped a 10-8 decision to host L-S Thursday.
“We let it get away from us in the first quarter, but if we had not spotted them five goals it may have turned out different,” said Westford coach Gus Bickford. “We did managed to bounce back. With the way they played, I have no problem with them winning this game.”
Westford (4-4) had beaten L-S (5-5) in a previous overtime match this season.

After giving up a 5-1 lead to open the second quarter, Westford managed to shorten the gap to a 7-6 deficit by half. Down 6-2, Westford teammates Jason Welch and Zach Ingalls combined for three long distance goals to bring the score within one.
“We have a lot of guys stepping up and we are practicing moving the ball around a lot,” said Delaney. “We were going out to help each other, sprinting around, and shooting well.”
