PHOTOS: Grey Ghosts' Girls Basketball Remains Spotless Versus Newton

A slow start was quickly rectified as the Westford Academy girls' basketball team improved to 3-0 on Friday night against the Tigers of Newton South.

When it came down to crunch time, Newton South was able to nearly double their 19 points from the first three quarters against , but it didn't make a dent in the final margin of victory as the Grey Ghosts held their more than 20 point lead in the last quarter of play, winning 52-31 on Friday night.

Sophomore Sam Hyslip had 13 points for the victors, leading all scorers, while senior Kelsey Stanvick had 8 points.

Both teams hit the hardwood again on Tuesday night as Westford will try to improve on their now 3-0 record as they travel to Weston while Newton will take their 1-2 record to Concord-Carlisle.
