LGBT+ STUDIES INSTITUTE Connects Westford Academy and Lowell High School Students
Westford and Lowell students will participate in an LGBTQ Study Institute and then present what they learn to their schools and community.

History UnErased (HUE), the first MA Department of Education licensed organization to provide LGBT+ professional development and academic content to K-12 schools, launches LGBT+ Studies Institute connecting Westford Academy and Lowell High School Students
Westford Academy and Lowell High School will each select seven students to participate in History UnErased’s eight month LGBT+ Studies Institute. The goal of the institute is to create youth leadership in LGBT+ academic content with a cross-district collaborative program. Students will meet monthly for 3-hour training sessions in LGBT+ academic content with expert historians, educators and authors, including Eric Marcus, New York Times best-selling author and Stonewall Book Award winner. Beginning in March 2017, students will conduct presentations introducing LGBTQ academic content to their local schools and community groups.
HUE works closely with national organizations, including the Library of Congress, National Park Service and ONE Archives Foundation at USC Libraries.
