Local Pitching Ace Named 3-Time Mid-Wach All-Star

Graduating Littleton All-Star Southpaw earns final honors, bound for Franklin Pierce on scholarship

Matt Landers, 2016 LHP and Senior Captain for Littleton High School baseball has been named a MIAA Mid-Wachusett League All-Star for the third time this 2016 Season. Landers ended the regular season for the Littleton Tigers varsity squad as a league pitching and hitting leader with 49 strikeouts in 36 innings pitched, a 1.18 ERA and .341 AVG.

A 4-year varsity starter, Landers was also named Littleton’s Most Valuable Player for 2016 and received the team Academic Achievement Award for maintaining the top cumulative GPA of 3.46. Earlier this year, Landers was named a 2016 Rawlings-Perfect Game Preseason All-Region (Northeast) player (The Perfect Game Northeast Region includes CT, DE, ME, MA, NH, NJ, NY, RI, VT) and is nationally ranked on the Perfect Game 2016 High Follow List. Landers was also named to the Lowell Sun All-Star Baseball Teams for 2015 & 2016, and to the Telegram & Gazette Hometeam Magazine All-Star Baseball Team for 2016.

Landers is also a two-time All-Star pitcher (Strikeouts Leader) with the Granite State Showcase League, which provides recruiting opportunities and exposure for the top college-bound high school baseball prospects in New England.

Following his recent graduation from Littleton High School, Landers will now be playing Summer baseball for the NE Ravens AAU program before starting his collegiate career on scholarship this Fall as a southpaw pitcher with the Franklin Pierce Ravens (2016 Northeast-10 Conference and NCAA DII Northeast Regional Champions).
