Local Commuter Rail Weekend Service Suspended Through November

Crews are starting an improvement project. Busing will not be provided.

MBTA commuter rail service on the Fitchburg line has been suspended through Nov. 22 for repairs. Busing will not be provided.

The MBTA said signals along the line, some of which date back to the 1950s, are being replaced, while an additional track is being added in areas where there is currently only a single track, reducing the potential for delays caused by freight traffic traveling through that part of the system.

The line has a stop in Littleton.
