Westford Pitcher Doing Well in Boston Area

The 2011 Yawkey League season is nearly over in the Boston area, and Westford hurler Mike Victory had a summer to remember with the Medford Maddogs.

In 10 games this year, Victory went 2-1 in 39 1/3 innings of work,  posting a 1.25 ERA while striking out an impressive 44 batters versus only 9 walks.

Next spring he will return for his senior year at St. Mary’s College in Maryland, where he will be in his second year as captain of the baseball team.

Westford Willows in CNEBA Semi-Finals Tonight

After defeating the Keene Blue Jays in their opening round series, the Westford Willows head to face Ronnies of Worcester in Worcester in one of the two semi-final matchups taking place tonight in the Central New England Baseball Association.

If they win, they begin a five game series starting on Saturday with either the Chelmsford Merchants or the Clinton 76ers, who are playing in the other semi-final contest tonight in Clinton.

Update: The semi-final games have been changed to best of three game series according to the CNEBA website. 

Volunteering Opportunities Still Available For Fall Youth Sports

The Westford Youth Soccer Association and the Westford Junior Ghosts Pop Warner program are still looking for volunteers this fall.
