The League of Women of Voters (LWV) will host a Legislative Candidates’ Forum on Sunday, October 5, 2014, 2:00-4:00 p.m., at the Willard School Auditorium, 185 Powder Mill Road, Concord, MA. The League has invited all candidates running for the Third Congressional District seat, the Third Middlesex State Senate seat and the 14th Middlesex State Representative seat. Westford is represented by the Third Congressional District and this Forum will provide Westford voters one of the few opportunities to meet and listen to the Congressional candidates prior to the election.

Invited candidates are Congresswoman Niki Tsongas, Democrat from Lowell, and her challenger, Ann Wofford, Republican from Haverhill; State Sen. Mike Barrett, Democrat from Lexington, and his challenger, Sandi Martinez, Republican from Chelmsford; and State Rep. Cory Atkins, Democrat from Concord, and her challenger, Ken Van Tassell, Libertarian from Chelmsford.

The LWV of Concord-Carlisle is the hosting sponsor of the forum and the LWVs of Andover/North Andover, Acton Area, Harvard, Sudbury and Westford are co-sponsors. Also supporting the event are the LWVs of Lexington and Weston. The forum will be recorded for later broadcast on local cable TV stations in many communities.
