More Heartbreak for Family of Harvard Graduate Missing Since 2003

Michael Wallace, a Leominster native, was reportedly seen last week in San Diego.

This week has brought more heartbreak for the family of a Leominster man missing since 2003.

A woman in San Diego, Calif. said she came across a homeless man who resembled Michael Wallace. The man, however, turned out to be someone else.

Wallace’s sister, Kim, was devastated.

“This is heartbreaking news for all of us and it is so difficult to think that we felt we were so close,” she wrote in a Facebook post.

Wallace, a Harvard graduate, was last seen on Feb. 4, 2003 after leaving his apartment in Menlo Park, California. His family said he suffered a mental breakdown after the death of his father, a separation from his wife, and the loss of his job at Sun Microsystems.
