Mr. McCurdy emphasizes that everyone has within them the ability to live an extraordinary life.  His philosophy is that there are no “secrets” to living a successful life, but there are basic principles one can use to achieve success. Understanding those principles and learning how to take action forms the basis of his presentation.

Mr. McCurdy will share some of his beliefs in a session with the school’s staff of more than 100. Principal Jay Sweeney said, “although our faculty and staff at AMSA are very passionate about their work, it can be draining both physically and emotionally. We like to keep our staff energized with programs that will help them grow and stretch beyond their norms as it relates to their subject area.”

Mr. Sweeney added, “Mr. McCurdy’s presentation is designed to help us take a look at our own mindset and avoid the fear of trying something new in the classroom. An investment in our staff is an investment in our students.”

This is the first in a series of topics to be covered in future professional development days. AMSA’s mission is to create an atmosphere of celebration of knowledge where children of all backgrounds and abilities excel in all subjects, especially in math, science, and technology, empowering them to succeed in the workplace in our modern high-tech world.

A businessman since 1973, Mr. McCurdy trained with Tolly Burkan at the renowned Firewalking Institute, where he was certified to teach. Mr. McCurdy is a proud Vietnam War veteran.
