WESTFORD — Coaches in the Colonial Athletic League voted to give Nashoba Valley Technical High School’s athletics program the league’s Sportsmanship Award for the 2012-2013 school year. “It’s a big honor,” Nashoba Tech Athletic Director David Fusco said. “It’s based on how the student-athletes act toward other teams and toward officials and toward other coaches. It means Nashoba Tech plays by the rules and shows respect toward officials, opponents and coaches. They play the game the right way.” Head coaches of all teams for all three seasons in the CAL have a vote. Nashoba Tech received 23 percent of the votes for the top spot. “This award shows it’s not always about winning or losing but representing the school, and I think we do that in a positive way,” Fusco said.
